1. Job Summary
Nkasiri Adventure Park is seeking a dynamic and highly energetic In-house Team Building Facilitator & Sports Coordinator to join our vibrant team. This role is crucial in delivering exceptional, high-impact team-building experiences and coordinating a diverse range of sports and recreational activities for our corporate clients, schools, families, and individual guests. The successful candidate will be instrumental in leveraging Nkasiri's unique outdoor facilities and adventure offerings to foster teamwork, enhance communication, promote well-being, and ensure an unforgettable guest experience.2. Key Responsibilities
A. Team Building Facilitation (Core Function) Program Design & Customization: Work closely with clients (corporate HR and event organizers) to understand their specific objectives and customize programs to meet their needs. Research, develop, and customize a variety of team-building exercises, workshops, and events that align with organizational objectives (e.g., improving communication, problem- solving, leadership, trust). Design, develop, and adapt engaging team-building programs and challenges that leverage Nkasiri's adventure park facilities (e.g., obstacle courses, high ropes, ziplines, open fields) and natural environment. Incorporate various facilitation techniques, debriefing methods, and experiential learning principles to maximize program impact. Incorporate diverse methodologies, including indoor, outdoor, virtual, and experiential learning approaches.Facilitation & Leadership: Lead and facilitate dynamic team-building sessions for diverse groups, ensuring active participation, safety, and a positive, inclusive atmosphere. Clearly brief participants on activity rules, safety protocols, and learning objectives. Manage group dynamics, provide constructive feedback, and guide discussions to extract key takeaways and apply them to real-world scenarios. Demonstrate and actively participate in activities as required, inspiring enthusiasm.
Safety & Risk Management ( paramount at an adventure park): Conduct thorough pre-activity safety briefings and ensure all participants adhere to Nkasiri's safety regulations and procedures. Work closely with the park's safety officers and instructors to ensure all adventure elements used in team building are safe and compliant. Be proficient in basic first aid and emergency response for outdoor activities. Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with all planned activities.
Logistics & Setup: Coordinate the setup and breakdown of all equipment and activity stations required for team-building programs. Ensure all equipment is in excellent working condition and properly stored. Manage activity flow and timing to ensure a seamless and efficient program delivery.
B. Sports Coordination & Guest Recreation Activity Planning & Promotion: Develop and promote a schedule of sports and recreational activities for guests (e.g., football, volleyball, cycling, nature walks, swimming pool activities). Organize and officiate sports tournaments, friendly matches, or recreational games for groups and individual guests.
Guest Engagement: Actively engage with guests, encouraging participation in recreational activities. Provide basic instruction and guidance for various sports and games. Ensure guests have access to necessary sports equipment and facilities.
Facility Oversight: Regularly inspect sports facilities and equipment to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and safety. Report any maintenance issues promptly to the relevant department.
First Aid & Emergency Response: Be readily available to provide first aid for minor sports-related injuries and coordinate with the park's medical response team for more serious incidents.

3. Qualifications
Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Recreation Management, Outdoor Education, Leisure & Hospitality Management, Physical Education, or a related field. Professional certifications in outdoor leadership, experiential education, adventure tourism, or specific sports coaching are highly advantageous. Mandatory: Valid First Aid and CPR certification.Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in facilitating team-building activities, preferably in an outdoor adventure or recreational park setting. Proven experience in organizing and coordinating sports/recreational programs. Experience working directly with diverse client groups (corporate, schools, families). Familiarity with the operations of an adventure park is a significant plus.
Skills & Competencies: Exceptional Facilitation & Leadership: Dynamic, energetic, charismatic, and able to command attention and inspire participation. Strong Outdoor & Adventure Skills: Comfort and proficiency in leading activities in an outdoor, physically active environment. Knowledge of safety protocols for adventure activities (e.g., high ropes, ziplines) is essential. Excellent Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Articulate, empathetic, and able to build rapport quickly with diverse groups. Fluent in English and Kiswahili. Safety Mindset: Uncompromising commitment to safety, with a strong understanding of risk assessment and mitigation in an adventure park context. Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Quick thinking and resourceful, able to manage unexpected situations effectively. Organizational & Planning Skills: Ability to meticulously plan and execute programs, managing logistics, equipment, and timelines. Customer Service Orientation: Passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences. Physical Stamina: Ability to be on feet for extended periods, demonstrate activities, and work in varied weather conditions. Team Player: Collaborative and able to work effectively with other park staff (e.g., instructors, operations, sales). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
